I’m extremely pleased that you decided to check out this page, and this blog. If you care to know more about me and what exactly The Pro Millennial is, keep reading because do I have a story for you!
Hello, I’m Larry and allow me to welcome you to The Pro Millennial. I’m a digital marketer, photographer, filmmaker, musician, blogger, and the list goes on. The shortest version is, I’m a storyteller. I love creating content that helps other people tell their stories the way they want to tell them. Over the past few years, I’ve tripled down on my photo and video work and I believe it’s starting to pay off, literally.
I was born and reared around Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I grew up here and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I know all about Southern University and LSU tailgating, Famous Blue Store Chicken, and the Mississippi River bridge traffic. It’s my home, and while I don’t always love everything about it, I love the people here. They helped shape and mold me into the person I am today.
I have a degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing. I’ve been on a steady career climb since my graduation in May of 2015. I’ve worked for 3 companies since then, 2 of which have been marketing agencies, and am currently employed in a marketing department of a financial institution. After different ideas, names, and just restlessness, I decided to bite the bullet and start this blog.
Don’t get me wrong. I didn’t just wake up and decide to start this blog. I’ve always had an interest in writing, telling stories, and sharing my ideas. I’ve started several blogs in the past that are now lost to the internet. I’ve written short stories, started YouTube Channels, and written a ton of content, but none of those things have pulled me like writing does. So, after lots of thought and several name changes, I started The Pro Millennial.
While I didn’t exactly need another thing on my plate, see the list in paragraph 2, I did need an outlet for my thoughts, ideas, unfinished projects, etc. I’ve always believed in long form content. While I love twitter and instagram, there’s just something about a good ol fashioned blog that really spoke to me. So here we are.
A little more about me: I’m engaged to the love of my life. We have a dog named Khloe. I love to travel to new places. I have a legitimate weakness for chocolate, Kit Kats to be exact (the Hershey chocolate, not Nestle). I love tech and social media. Music was my first love. I play guitar and a little piano. I have a ton of hobbies and no free time. I’m certifiably obsessed with my hair.
About This Blog
Why The Pro Millennial?
As a young professional, I wanted to offer my opinion on
The Pro Millennial is a lifestyle, docu-blog dedicated to documenting the journey of millennials operating in professional America. I want to use this platform to provide personal stories, epiphanies, commentary, advice, interviews, guest blogs and more. As a professional millennial, I want us to be able to tell our stories our way. We’re all in this together (cue High School Musical soundtrack).
So What Can You Expect?
While I may only be 3 years into my career, I’d like to offer what little advice I’ve learned along the way, to help those in need. I want to share my stories of success and challenges to help others relate or steer clear of certain situations. As someone starting a small business, I would also love to offer those stories and lessons as well.
I’m what some people would call optimistic. I see things rather positively, and I believe that mindset is what has contributed to many of my ventures. Sometimes, I’ll just want to share what’s going on in my life. As a 20 something, life can seem funny or difficult from my view point and I want to share that with the world. I also threw tech in here because whether you like it or not, it’s shaping our lives.
I am not a financial counselor. I’m no guru or expert. But working in a financial institution has given me access to experts and knowledge I wouldn’t otherwise have. I want to share what I learned and what I know with the world in hopes that we can all survive comfortably.
While I’m not the healthiest person by far. I know that it’s extremely important. I used to be pretty healthy physically, but my relationship changed that. And remember that fiance I told you about earlier. She knows a lot about mental health and such. I’ll be picking her brain on a few mental health topics so that others may know what we know.
If you’ve made it this far down the page, congrats, you the real MVP. I hope you stick around and take a look at the rest of the site. Read some stories, share some laughs, and leave some comments. Feel free to sign up for my email list, I promise I won’t spam you!
